Perfect after Christmas lunch or a mid-winter feast, this classy cocktail will help to ease digestive discomfort and pave the way for happy tummies all night long. A New Zealand native herb, Kawakawa was traditionally used to ease digestive discomfort after big feasts and combined with ginger and peppermint, Kiwiherb Stomach Calm works well for soothing digestion. To a tall glass of sparkling water add: 5-10ml Kiwiherb Stomach Calm 2 tsp fresh lemon or lime juice 2-4 bruised fresh mint leaves Sprig of fresh mint to serve Ice is optional (Stomach Calm contains natural, organic NZ Manuka Honey, and another organic NZ native honey, Kamahi Honey, but add ½-1 tablespoon high quality liquid honey or honey syrup to taste if you like your drinks a little sweeter!) Stir well and enjoy! This may be made fresh or by the jug and stored overnight in the fridge to let the fresh mint leaves infuse... Many “connoisseurs” report that they enjoy this when wanting a special alternative to alcoholic beverages.   Hot Kawakawa Kalm This is my clients’ favourite cuppa when they come to my clinic. I love it because it’s not only warming and medicinal but also easy to make! No brewing, no straining, no fuss. People are always surprised by how delicious it tastes and how much better they feel after drinking it. Kawakawa and Ginger are both herbs that aid digestion, reduce griping and help move wind. Use this for easing digestive upsets and as a general tonic for the whole body. 5-10ml Kiwiherb Stomach Calm (a little is more subtle, a lot is quite punchy!) 1 cup boiling water That’s it! Stomach Calm is naturally sweetened slightly with organic NZ Manuka Honey, organic NZ Kamahi Honey and organic palm-free vegetable glycerol, so it doesn’t need anything extra added, but for a fancy version you can add your choice of the following: 1-2 slices fresh ginger root (for extra zing!) Squeeze of fresh lemon juice ½ tsp powdered turmeric
