Founded in New Zealand in 1998, Phytomed Medicinal Herbs Limited specialises in manufacturing liquid herbal extracts for healthcare practitioners. Building on this foundation, Kiwiherb was launched in 2000 to support the health and wellbeing of infants, children and adults. Kiwiherb products blend traditional plant knowledge with scientific evidence and reflect our commitment to natural health care.

Kiwiherb is the vision of pharmacist, herbalist and international lecturer, Phil Rasmussen, who, after many years of experience prescribing and manufacturing herbal medicines, recognised the need for premium quality herbal health products to be available to all.

  • Rongoā Rākau – Māori Herbal Medicine

    The Kiwiherb range embraces the wisdom of Rongoā. It incorporates a number of sustainably sourced New Zealand native herbs, carefully selected for their time-honoured traditional medicinal uses. These native plants (Mānuka, Koromiko, Kawakawa, Houhere (Hoheria), Horopito, Poroporo, Totara and Tanekaha) have long been valued for their therapeutic actions and add unique healing properties to many of Kiwiherb’s products.

  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

    Our manufacturing plant is accredited by Medsafe as a GMP facility. This means all batches are subject to testing and monitoring, ensuring the safety and consistency of each batch. These robust quality control measures are applied to all stages of production, from raw materials through to the finished product.

  • BioGro Certified Organic

    Wherever possible, Kiwiherb products are certified organic by BioGro – New Zealand’s leading organic certification agency.

    Where applicable Kiwiherb products are approved by the New Zealand Vegetarian Society, as part of its Product Approval Programme.
